Full Course Description

Head out from the race start (bridleway just below the HQ field) and continue on the track without turning off. Pass a bridleway on your left, then several disused barns and a lodge on your left. After a climb, the track takes a sharp right turn. Continue climbing. Before reaching the main road and the gate, swing off right into a field. Follow the edge of the field parallel with Old Lane. Take a left turn when you return to the bridleway before turning right at the next junction. Descend, taking another right before crossing the Dam over Billberry Reservoir Dam.

Climb the rocky steps, using a gate to access a footpath. Before hitting the stream and the wall, turn right and start your climb up a wooded path. Take care as the left side of the path is damaged and drops away steeply. When you emerge from the woods keep climbing and you will bear left twice before a tarmac road descends into Holme Village itself. Beware of cars.

Run through the village crossing the cobbled area and using the pavement (important) to bear left onto Fieldhead Lane. As you reach the car park to Digley Reservoir, run through it (on your left) and take the path around the reservoir. You will descend the steps you climbed before.

Cross the dam again and then bear right, continuing along with woods on your right. Just as you eventually reach the quarry, take a sharp left through the gap in the wall and follow the flat path through scattered trees. This paths winds right and very steeply up heathery banking past a bench and stile. Turn right at the top and make your way back to the finish line in the field.
